Concrete Polishing

Polished concrete has become the preferred floor system for many commercial applications because it combines durability, low maintenance, and attractive appearance. But not all polished concrete is equal. The difference between a floor that performs for decades and one that requires constant maintenance comes down to process control, equipment quality, and operator skill.

DeSoto Concrete Contractors has invested in commercial-grade polishing equipment and trained technicians specifically for the demands of commercial and industrial applications. We don't use residential equipment on commercial jobs; the equipment isn't built for the square footages and performance requirements involved.

Our polishing capabilities include:

• Grinding and preparation - Removal of coatings, adhesives, and surface contamination
• Crack and joint repair - Proper preparation before polishing begins
• Densifier application - Chemical hardening to increase surface durability
• Progressive grinding - Multi-step process using increasingly fine tooling
• Polish levels - From satin to high-gloss based on aesthetic requirements

• Guard and sealer - Protective treatments for specific use conditions

We specify polish levels based on how the floor will be used. Warehouse floors need different treatment than retail showrooms; manufacturing facilities have different requirements than office buildings. This application-specific approach delivers appropriate performance without over-specifying (and overpaying).

For new construction, we work with general contractors and property owners during design to optimize slab specifications for future polishing. The right concrete mix and curing process make polishing easier and more effective.
